Allegheny County, PA November 3, 2009 Election
Smart Voter Additional Endorsements for David J. Quatchak

Candidate for
Member, Council; Borough of Franklin Park; Ward 1

This information is provided by the candidate

I was appointed to Franklin Park Borough Council on May 25, 2005 to fill a vacancy created by a resignation and then elected the following November to serve a four-year term. I have served as President of Borough Council since January 3, 2006. I have decided not to run for re-election after this term. There are two candidates competing for the available seat on Council, and I want to share with you my enthusiastic support for the singularly qualified candidate, David Quatchak. The most critical issue facing our community in the near future will be the implementation of our Comprehensive Plan and the possible adjustments that will need to be made in our subdivision, land-development, and zoning laws in order to properly accomplish that goal. In my opinion, David has already clearly demonstrated that he is the only truly qualified candidate for this position as evidenced by his long-term, impeccable leadership of the Planning Commission and also his record of near-perfect attendance at all Council meetings. David has the expertise and experience in this area, and during my tenure in office I found him to be a person of honesty and integrity. His wisdom, insight and high level of commitment while leading the Planning Commission will continue to serve us well.

I support David Quatchak! I have worked with David to continually improve our borough since I moved here in 1998. We worked together on the borough's Environmental Advisory Council and the Comprehensive Plan Implementation Committee. We worked closely together during David's service as a member and Chair of the Planning Commission and my service as Chair of the Environmental Advisory Council. I trust David and know that the best interests of the citizens of Franklin Park are his first priority.

A vote for David will ensure the citizens of Franklin Park will continue to enjoy their low taxes, fiscal responsibility, quality services, and quality of life.
