Political Philosophy for Kevin P. O'Brien
Candidate for |
The Anderson Towne Place Movie Theater and Parking Garage are on hold as of October 20, 2009. No visible work has been done for 4 weeks or more. The Township has committed almost $5 million to the parking garage. A significant portion of the $5 million has already been spent. It is my understanding the garage can NOT be completed until the movie theater construction has started. The movie theater construction will not start until the Banks providing the additional financing say OK. In the current project financing environment, we may be looking at an unfinished concrete foundation for 12-18 months or longer. The original project included Condos, Parking Garage and Movie Theater built into the side of hill seemed far-fetched. The Condos are out, the Movie Theater doesn't have financing in-hand and the Township is stuck with $5 million dollars in concrete hanging off the side of a hill with a history of slipping into the creek bed below. As a resident, I'M UPSET. If elected Trustee I will get to the bottom of this very poor error in judgement. |
