With my husband, Terry, we have lived in Cleves for the past 50 years. We have two children. I have been involved with the community for about all the 50 years.
It has been a short four years since I was elected to the Village of Cleves Council.
CURRENT AND PAST COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.
- Working with the Three Rivers Woman's Club buying, baseballs, swings sets, scholarships or any other good projects. Having served as it's President twice.
- As a member of the Governor Othniel Looker Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution I was pleased to serve as Regent.
- In 1990 I took on the task of the restoration of the President William Henry Harrison Memorial. We set up a 501 C (3) Foundation of which I am still the President. Working with the Ohio Historical Society and the Ohio General Assembly a two phase restoration of the Memorial has been accomplished. Now our group acts as the management group.
- A member of the Presidential Pathways Scenic Byway Committee. This byway was approved by the Ohio Department of Transportation July of this year. We held our first Twilight Walk, "Log Cabin and Hard Cider" this past September 21.
- When as President of the Scottish Rite Ladies Association, Valley of Cincinnati we took on the project of a simple test for group B-Strep. A test for new born babies that would become a routine test given to each child and paid for by insurance. This test has saved many babies lives and health problems which could occur.
- President of the Armstrong Clan Association of the United States. A group involved with preserving Scottish Culture. I worked with national and international groups.
- Chairperson of the "Christmas in the Village" Committee for many years.
- Chairperson of the 175th Celebration of the Village of Cleves.
