Since having been appointed to complete the term of Virginia Rhodes in 1993 I have dedicated myself to continuing to learn and grow in understanding education reform locally, statewide and in the national arena. Education reform continues to be one of the major issues facing our country. As a state and local education leader I have consistently governed to create opportunities for academic growth for every child in every school in our district. I understand that not only are our children our future but they are also our now, constantly impacting the city and regional economic growth. I have always held myself accountable in order to hold others to the same responsibility. I will continue to be an advocate for responsible public education. I will continue to advocate for each of our children to become life long learners and leaders in our communities. |
