During my 4 years on Council, I have worked to find smart solutions to our challenges, as a wise leader rather than blind follower. Every day I try to make our City a little better. I am a Democrat, but an independent thinker who feels that we should always put people before politics.

I am committed to a safe, growing city where I can raise my children and where they can raise theirs. Our population will not increase, and our City will not grow if our citizens are unsafe and feel that the City has left them unprotected.

This means that I am committed to keeping more cops on the streets rather than fewer, and keeping our fire stations open and fully staffed. It also means finding ways to bring businesses to the City to provide jobs for all of our citizens. Besides public safety, maybe the most important thing leaders can do is help create an environment where businesses want to locate, bringing jobs to our people and tax revenues to the City.

We also need to protect our neighborhoods from the threat of foreclosures. It only takes one vacant house to drag down an entire block, I am working everyday to find ways to keep families in their homes and to turn around those homes that have already been abandoned.

A city that can attract businesses is a city that will grow. By reforming our tax system and offering reasonable incentives for relocation and expansion, we can make Cincinnati a destination city for businesses and the families that they employ. With solid leadership on council, our City will grow and recover from the economic downturn at the head of the pack.

Cincinnati is a great place to live, work and raise a family. Like every city around the world, we are going through some tough economic times, but we can grow despite these challenges, and with proper leadership we can make our Queen City even better.
