Stanislaus County, CA November 3, 2009 Election
Smart Voter

With the assistance of other agencies, I have resourcefully enacted the following programs on my own (not inclusive):

By Robert W. "Pollo" Stanford

Candidate for Council Member; City of Modesto; District 4

This information is provided by the candidate
I have worked for five years in the Modesto Airport District carrying a caseload of approximately 200 households. I have provided domestic training for immigrant families and those in recovery of drugs and/or alcohol as well as workshops regarding the following subjects - this is by no means inclusive:
  • ESL classes (English classes for the Spanish speaking)
  • Breast and Cervical cancer early screening
  • Diabetes education
  • Pre-natal classes for encouragement of women to seek pre-natal medical services
  • Infant Death prevention
  • Gang awareness
  • Drug awareness
  • Domestic Violence counseling for families
  • Referral for social services available in the area.
  • Referral for immigration services to immigrants
  • Referral for pesticide certification for farm workers and the importance of proper hydration and heat exhaustion avoidance.

A partial list of the organizations that I am affiliated with in the local area and by no means is inclusive:

  • El Concilio - Council for the Spanish Speaking
  • United Way of Stanislaus County
  • Hispanic Leadership Council
  • Modesto Gospel Mission
  • American Cancer Society
  • Parent Institute for Quality Education
  • Latino Community Round Table
  • Interfaith Ministries of Stanislaus County
  • Central Valley Opportunity Center
  • Salvation Army Stanislaus

As is apparent from these lists of my work, in just over the past five years I have been socially effective. I am passionate and a good advocate. I believe that I would be a leader for the City of Modesto that understands that with fiduciary responsibility there also comes social responsibility.

Thank you for your vote.
