Barbara has been a champion for open space preservation, parks and recreational facilities and insisting on a sustainable future for San RafaelBarbara will work for the implementation of San Rafael's forward looking Climate Change Action Plan. She looks forward to working with Marin Clean Energy as it moves toward green energy and State mandates of SB375 and AB32. Barbara was the key vote that allowed San Rafael to join the Joint Powers Agreement on Clean Energy. She is also active on the Tree Advisory Committee and a strong advocate for the Integrated Pest Management program. San Rafael is a leader in the BERST project -Green Building, Energy, Retrofit and Solar Transformation - a multi-jurisdictional effort setting policy and model programs for the future. She supports the move toward Zero Waste and reduction in water use for all city facilities and Green building standards for commercial and residential construction. Her leadership has helped protect scenic hilltops, public recreational facilities and ball fields, bayshore and wetlands. |
