This information is provided by the candidate

After graduating from North Salinas High School in 1966, I attended local colleges completing over 200 units. In May of 1974 I started working for Castroville Fire District and continued employment when the district was taken over by North County Fire District in 1982. I spent the time with the district as a full-time Firefighter and also served as the treasurer of the Firefighters association most of that time before retiring in 2002. At that time I became a reserve Firefighter and then the President of the reserves from 2003 to 2008.

In 1984 I started Salinas Pool A-1 Service & Supply and currently still own and operate the business with two employees. In 1997 I joined the Independent Pool & Spa Service Association (IPSSA) of which I help start a local chapter in Watsonville in 1998 and became the treasurer, until being elected to President for the 2005-2006 term. In 2006 I became the director of the Bay Area South Region 10 of IPSSA serving a two year term.

I have also spent time with our local Bobby Sox League serving as an umpire for 3 years and a coach for 2 as well as an assistant coach for North County Little League for 2 years.
