Candidate for Town Council; Proposed Town of Carmel Valley

This information is provided by the candidate
I am opposed to formation of the Town of Carmel Valley. I do not believe that the residents of the Valley have been provided with all of the data necessary to make an intelligent decision on the matter. A comprehensive Environmental Impact statement was never done; the fiscal assessment that was done is badly outdated and does not reflect today's economic environment.

I wish to maintain the rural nature of our Valley and see that development is limited. I believe that property owners should be allowed to use their property as they see fit as long as the interests of other residents are protected and our environment is too.

I am a fiscal, political and social conservative who believes in limited government. "If it's not broke, let's not fix it". Do we really want, and can we afford, another level of Government? No doubt it will lead to higher costs and fees.

Should the proponents prevail, and I hope they will not, I would serve on the Council without pay and attempt to ensure that any policies proposed would make common sense and be fiscally conservative. I would do my best to see that lawsuits will be avoided.
