Candidate for Governing Board Member; El Monte City School District

This information is provided by the candidate
ROBERTO "BOBBY" SALCEDO FOR EL MONTE CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION

Qualifications Bachelor of Arts - History Teaching Credential Masters - Educational Administration Administrative Credential Doctorate of Education - Educational Leadership, 2010 Candidate

Five years ago, I began serving on the School Board. In that time our district has faced many challenges including dwindling state resources and a declining student population. Managing these challenges has been difficult but we have focused on operating under a more efficient model while continuing to ensure quality instruction in our classrooms.

As a board member, school administrator, former teacher and student of our local schools, I understand the value of collaboration with community partners to provide resources for our schools. During my tenure, we have received national recognition for providing students with healthy schools and invested local tax dollars to modernize facilities, build new classrooms, and improve campus safety.

Instruction has always been my top priority. Our teachers work hard to provide our students with quality instruction. In recent years, our schools have made great strides in student achievement. I will work to continue to provide the necessary support for teachers to be successful in the classroom.

With your help, we can continue to ensure that every child in the district receives the quality education they deserve.
