This information is provided by the candidate |
Richard Atwater Background and ExperienceRichard Atwater Age: 57 Occupation: Member of the Board of Directors, Crescenta Valley Water District I have been on the Board of Directors of the Crescenta Valley Water District since 2003. We are in a statewide drought and the cost of imported water from the Colorado River and northern California will be getting significantly more expensive. My goals are to expand our voluntary water conservation programs to eliminate water waste, develop more local well water supplies and to implement new projects to recycle water and capture stormwater to reduce our need to purchase expensive imported water. I have served as a member of the California Water Commission from 2000 to 2004 and have received awards from EPA and three Governors for environmental and water quality achievements related to my professional management of a water utility. I received a bachelor of science degree from Stanford University (1974) and a master degree from USC (1976). My wife, Erin, and I have lived at our residence since 1986. I have actively volunteered for a variety community activities during the past 20 years. Thank you for your vote on November 3rd. |
