Our school district, like our world, is comprised of a diverse group of unique individuals with varying strengths, interests, and intelligences. I do not believe our work as a school district is done until we are effectively meeting the needs of all of our students. In order to do so, we must provide a rich education in the arts and vocational trades. While preparing for college is critical, there are some students who would rather attend a trade school or enter the work force after high school. Those students deserve to be as well-prepared for their path as the students who choose to go on to college. Whether these non-core classes provide added enrichment for a student or help him or her to choose a career, they are a critical component to any fully developed school district.
