Joyce L. Randall - Candidate StatementBy Joyce L. "Rev. Randall" RandallCandidate for Board Member; Inglewood Unified School District; Seat 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We deserve better. It is time for a change.FOR THE OFFICE OF INGLEWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL BOARD SEAT #1 JOYCE L. RANDALL Educator I bring true change, true progress, and a positive vision for the future. I am duly qualified to serve as a member of the IUSD Board of Trustees, with 19 years as a heralded public school teacher, mentor teacher, and director. I have served as Inglewood Council of PTA's President, President of LaTijera School PTA, Inglewood Teacher's Association's Grievance Chair, Director of Education at a major church for 9 years, and a Trustee on the Cecil Murray Education Center Board. The IUSD Board of Education is dysfunctional. Our youth deserve better. Repeatedly, the IUSD Board neglects to provide the education our children need. The IUSD Board has huge problems to tackle, financial mismanagement, a lack of personal responsibility and an overabundance of greed. Millions of dollars is spent on substitute teachers and not enough on retaining good, caring educators. We throw millions away to lawyers and bureaucrats fighting avoidable lawsuits. This must stop. As a parent I will fight to make sure there is real change for all children to succeed. "Children First", vote April 7, 2009, Joyce L. Randall, for School Board Seat #1." |
