Candidate for
Council Member; Borough of Lansdale; Ward 3

I am running for Lansdale Borough Council for two reasons. First, I want to ensure that the positive steps taken by the current Council towards revitalization of the Borough are maintained and built upon. I am interested in finding ways to revitalize the entire Borough, not just the few blocks 'down town'. Council, through its Economic Development Committee, has started to attract interest from investors who wish to locate businesses in Lansdale. We need to continue to create a welcoming environment through the Borough staff and our elected officels to make sure these investors feel welcome and so they follow through with their plans.

My second reason for running is to ensure that some level of experience is maintained on Council. None of the incumbents are running for reelection which means that it is possible come January 2010 that the most experienced Council person will be those elected two years ago, all of whom are serving their first terms. I have 8 years previous experience on Council, having served two terms (1988-1996). My learning curve if elected will be much shorter than my running mates who are also all running for the first time. With my experience, the Borough will be assured of at least one experienced hand on Council to help guide, mentor and teach the other members.
