Ed Levine, 37, has built a broad legal background over the past several years during and after putting himself through Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law at night, while he and his wife raised their twin sons.

"There are two things the people of Lansdale and Towamencin can count on," Levine said in announcing his candidacy. "First is my love of this area and my commitment to serve the people of the North Penn community, and second my commitment to hard work as is evidenced by earning my law degree at night while my wife and I worked and raised our two sons."

Upon moving to Lansdale in 2001, Levine began attending law school as a night student. During the day he clerked for the Magisterial District Judge David A. Keightly in the Lansdale/Montgomeryville District Court. Levine immersed himself in the inner workings of the local judiciary and gained extensive experience dealing with traffic law, civil claims, landlord/tenant disputes, and preliminary criminal matters. In 2005, Levine served as a summer associate at the prestigious Lansdale law firm of Rubin, Glickman, Steinberg and Gifford.

During his last year of law school, Levine worked at the law firm of Villari, Brandes and Kline in Conshohocken focusing on Education Law and Personal Injury plaintiff's work. Levine graduated from law school in 2006, where he was a member of the Political and Civil Rights Law Journal, President of the Student Bar Association Evening Division, Awarded as an Outstanding Oral Advocate, and Received Honors in the area of Cyberlaw.

Levine is currently a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bar associations. Immediately after being admitted to the bar, Levine joined the firm of Duffy Connors in Exton, where he specialized in Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Defense.

In the fall of 2007, Levine left the Exton firm to take on freelance projects and to spend more time with his sons. Over the past year, Levine has worked on several complex projects for such prestigious Philadelphia law firms as Saul Ewing, Dechert, Pepper Hamilton, and Morgan Lewis.

Levine, a native of the Washington, DC area, graduated from the University of Maryland in 1993 with a degree in journalism, and worked several years in the media industry, including two years with the Discovery Channel.
