Candidate for
School Director; Carlynton School District

I have been an active parent-volunteer in the Carlynton School District for the past three years; I started in the PTA and have branched out from there. My volunteer work has given me the chance to interact with kids from kindergarten through ninth grade.

My interest in the overall well-being of the schools has motivated me to keep up with the many changes in the No Child Left Behind law, because this law influences every academic decision school districts make. I also regularly attend School Board and Elementary Education Committee meetings. The best part about attending these meetings is working with people from all three of our communities to find ways to help our schools.

I earned my degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where I graduated with honors.

I live in Rosslyn Farms with my wonderful husband and daughter.
