I was born and raised in Monroeville on Kenmar Drive. I attended and graduated from Gateway High School in 1973. I joined Monroeville Vol. Fire Co. Station 5 in 1970 as a Jr. Fire Fighter and have been an active member ever since. After graduation I attended CCAC, Boyce Campus with a Major in Criminology / Police Science. After my first year, I was given an opportunity to attend the first Paramedic Program sponcered by Columbia Hospital & Dr. Allen Schattner. I completed this training and was hired by the Twp. of Penn Hills who had initiated the first Muncicipally paid EMS services in the area. After working for Penn Hills EMS for five years I applied for the Monroeville Police Department. I was hired in 1979, attended the Pa State Police Acadamy graduating in December of 1979. In 1982, I married my wife Nancy, rented a home on McKinney Road and later moved to another rental on College Park Drive. We finally purchased our current home on Lorraine Drive and have lived there for the past 26 years.

During this time I worked the night shift for my first 7 years on the Police Department, was appointed to work on the first Police Computer System, was promoted to Detective were I worked in narcotics enforcement. I was promoted to Cpl. in patrol, transferred to the Traffic Unit were is was promoted to Sgt. in Charge of the Motorcycle Traffic Unit were I competed my remaining 15 years with the Department.
