The principle goal of education is to promote a safe and caring environment that provides equal opportunity for learning and promotes respect for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, or ability.
The most important function of any school is to provide the best possible education it can to all students. I believe that the principle goal of education is to promote a safe and caring environment that provides equal opportunity for learning and promotes respect for all individuals, regardless of race, gender, or ability.

It is my belief that we must take into consideration the individual needs of children to ensure that all benefit from the education program. Every child develops at a different rate physically, cognitively, and emotionally. Every child should be encouraged to recognize his or her own individuality while maintaining a respect for others.

Education should encourage children to develop to their fullest potential according to their own individual abilities. Children need to develop knowledge, skills, and the ability to think for themselves so that they will be self-confident in setting goals, making informed choices, and acting in ways that will improve their own lives and the life of the community.

As a board member, I believe that it is my responsibility to nurture a morality that encourages empathy and respect for others.  In addition to the academics, I feel that a school should also teach students how to function in society. Learning to be accountable for one's actions, and following accepted behavior are essential in this process.

Subjects taught in school should give students a well-rounded education and prepare them for life as useful and knowledgeable citizens. The curriculum should be challenging and oriented towards developing the intellectual and social needs of all students and is useful and challenging in a way that all students may grasp so they may become knowledgeable and successful in their pursuit of gaining an education. If we can instill in every child a love of learning and quest for knowledge at an early age, the love of learning will grow and continue through life.

I believe that most human beings are naturally curious and have a desire to understand the world around them. Education should arouse students' curiosity, which will allow us to make use of this desire. In such activities students should use as many of their senses as possible to encourage true and active learning. I also believe that learning is a social process, requiring the use of cooperative learning. When students discuss material amongst themselves, they help each other understand and clear up misunderstandings, which foster constructive interaction.
