Political Philosophy for Misi Tagaloa

Thank you for your consideration for the 1st District Council seat. I've been a Long Beach resident for 24 years, 14 living and working in District 1. We're a diverse community with diverse needs and resources. We need elected leaders who can bring us together to tackle our city's real issues: job creation, homelessness and affordable housing, business development, quality childcare and eldercare, youth violence, and safe, beautiful, and eco-friendly neighborhoods. We promise our children: work hard in school, and you'll get a good job and live out your dreams. But kids are falling through the cracks, and many graduate ill-equipped for the 21st century workforce or unable to find available jobs. We need smart solutions to the city's issues so that we can hold to our promise. Ideas alone won't get the job done. With a banking and real estate background, I'd bring solid financial knowhow to the Council. And, as a senior minister, I've partnered with numerous organizations and people young and old, rich and poor, gay and straight, of every race, religion, and ethnicity to achieve common goals. I'd appreciate your vote for the 1st District Council seat. If elected, I promise you all my best. |
