Darr Biography

Terri Darr has been residing in the San Gabriel Valley for 18 years. She is currently working at Jefferson Elementary School on special assignment as a counselor. Her dedication and interest in education drove her back to school to pursue a master's degree in education at Point Loma Nazarene University with a concentration in school counseling.

Her three daughters have all completed their bachelor degrees and are now pursuing graduate degrees in nursing, public administration, and law. Ms. Darr worked as a volunteer for PTA, Girl Scouts, and church while her children were growing up. She is also a grandmother, with a granddaughter enrolled at Don Benito Elementary School.

Ms. Darr has experience working with students in grades pre-k through junior college as a classroom teacher, career advisor, and program coordinator. In addition to her work experience in education, Ms. Darr has also worked in private industry in sales and marketing for more than two decades selling household products, computer hardware and services, and computer based instructional programs.

Through the years, Ms. Darr has actively participated in local parent organizations such as the PTA, worked as a Girl Scout Leader, and teacher for community based faith organizations. As a mentor for the Orphan Foundation of America, Ms. Darr helps encourage emancipating foster youth through their transition. During the summer, she volunteers as an assistant camp director for the YMCA summer camp program, and actively supports programs with Outward Bound of Los Angeles headquarters in Pasadena.
