What in my personal, civic or professional experience recommends my election and return to office?By Frederick J. "Fred" (q) SalanitroCandidate for Councilman; Town of Eastchester | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Professional Experience: Attorney in Private practice for over 20 years As an attorney I have received the training and experience to be an "advocate". I have the ability to negotiate and review contracts, interpret statutes and research legal issues with a judicial eye. I will utilize these skills for the benefit of the citizens of our town to protect the town in contract negotiations and to protect the town from legal liabilities. Civic Experience: Eastchester Town Councilman (January 2008 to date)
As a member of the ZBA I utilized my training as an attorney and insisted upon the strict interpretation of the zoning code for the benefit and protection of our citizens. I presided over numerous applications and rendered decisions resulting in the issuance and/or denial of requests for variances and special permits. I also presided over requests for interpretations of various provisions of the Zoning Code. As a Town Councilman I am liaison to the Building Department. One of my primary goals is to continue the re-write of the Zoning Code. In my short time on the Board I have already implemented a series of amendments to the code and intend to continue to do so until the entire code has been updated. My involvement will save thousands of tax dollars since I am able to complete this project "in house" without the need to retain expensive outside consultants. Personal (community): Eastchester Blue Devils + Coach Eastchester Little League + Assistant Coach As a leader of various organizations over the years I have proven that I have the ability to organize and motivate people to work together to accomplish a particular goal. I believe there is no problem or obstacle which exists which does not have a solution and I pride myself in finding the solutions to difficult problems. In addition to all of the above, I believe that it is my work experience which began when I started working in a factory cleaning floors and filling orders at the age of 14 which also recommends my return to office. I have learned the value of a dollar and possess a very strong work ethic which I acquired at a very young age. I worked throughout my high school, college and Law School career in various jobs from stock clerk to bank teller and bank representative to law clerk. |
