? 1. What proposals do you have to increase employment opportunities in Massachusetts?

Answer from CJ Ferry:

Massachusetts needs to become a more friendly business environment State. The excessive business taxes, fees and costs associated with doing business in Massachusetts make it very simple for business to move to competing states with lower unemployment insurance taxes, lower worker's compensation insurance fees, lower property taxes and lower fees for licenses, inspections and business regulation.

It is truly a catch 22 for when business leave the State, unemplyment rates rise and so unemployment taxes must also go up to fund unemployment compensation.

We need to work with the business community to develop a workable plan to entice business to locate or relocate back to Massachusetts. This plan should include tax advantages to locate to economically depressed communities and back to Massachusetts.

This plan will increase tax revenues, jobs and an improvement in the economy of the Commonwealth.

? 2. How will you rectify problems with aging Massachusetts infrastructure, especially bridges and tunnels?

(No candidates submitted answers to this question)

? 3. Governor Patrick has proposed a wide-ranging plan to transform education in the Commonwealth. What do you see as the top priorities in his plan and what funding mechanism do you feel will enable their successful implementation?

(No candidates submitted answers to this question)
