Board Member; Simi Valley Unified School District

Rob Collins retired from the Simi Valley Unified School District in 2002 after being elected to the Ventura County School Board. He was a teacher at Sinaloa Middle School for ten years and a teacher and administrator at Simi Valley High School for twenty-three years. He was elected to the Simi Valley School Board in 2004 and currently serves as the Board President.

Rob is currently an adjunct professor of Political Science at College of the Canyons and has also taught at Moorpark College. He was also recently elected to the statewide Delegate Assembly of the California School Boards Association. He is also a Vice President of the Ventura County School Boards Association.

Rob was voted "Teacher of the Year" in 1998 (Lew Roth Award). He has been a High School Dean of Students, Activity Director and Counselor. As the Academic Decathlon Coach at Simi Valley High School, his teams won the Ventura County Championships four times. He has been Director of the "Read Across America" program in Simi Valley since 2001. He is past president and an active member of the Tri-County Education Coalition. He is also a current member of the Board of Directors of the Simi Valley Education Foundation.
