Paul A. Westberg will be running for re-election as Director of the Oak Valley Hospital District. He is currently completing his second 4-year term. Oak Valley Hospital District (OVHD) is a community hospital with 35 acute beds and 105 long-term beds that serves the communities of Oakdale, Waterford, Riverbank, Escalon, Knight's Ferry, and Valley Home. There are over 75,000 residents living within the district. Five Directors are elected to 4-year terms on the Board that oversee all aspects of the hospital district. OVHD generated revenues of almost $60M in fiscal 2008 and is the second largest employer within the city of Oakdale. Throughout this, Mr. Westberg continues to be accountable to the community, push for accessible patient care for all in our community, and be committed to quality and compassionate care. His goal is to honor your vote and trust by being the best steward for our district. Mr. Westberg was elected as a Director on the Oak Valley Hospital District Board in 2000 and currently serves as Vice-President of the Board. Since 2004 he has served on the Quality Council. He previously served on the Finance Committee from 1998 through 2004. He has over 35 years of experience in healthcare including patient care, information systems, and management. He started his career in healthcare in the U.S. Navy as a corpsman, serving over six years. Mr. Westberg earned a Master of Science degree in Health Care Management (MSPH) from the University of Missouri in 1979. Previously he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley in 1977.
