Candidate Statement

By Stacey Morgan-Foster

Candidate for Director; Oak Valley Hospital District

This information is provided by the candidate
We need to ensure high quality health care that is fully accountable to the citizens.
We need to ensure high quality health care that is fully accountable to the citizens. I've watched the controversy over the last year, and now as a citizen I want to contribute to solving our hospital facility issue as a member of the OVHD board.

Oakdale is my home. My experiences in higher education have included 20 years of overseeing ambulatory health care facilities at universities for populations of 8,500 to 28,000 individuals and managing accreditation and regulatory issues. I have significant exposure to planning and construction of multimillion-dollar facilities in the state university system, including feasibility studies, financial planning, construction, and self support funding. I hold a law degree from the George Mason University School of Law, with a specialization in Land Practice. My bachelor's degree in English and my teaching credential are from CSU Sacramento.

I don't yet know all the details of the hospital construction issue, but I am concerned that the district found it necessary to request additional money from property owners after successfully securing funding of the initial proposal. I pledge to work proactively with the board and management to deliver on their promise, to communicate fully with district constituents, and to ensure that proper accountability measures are upheld.
