Remain committed to rebuilding and repopulating the downtown area.We must maintain the progress made so far in "Reinventing" downtown Riverbank by continuing excellent planning and management of our growth. We must remain committed to funding the Redevelopment Project as it nears completion by ensuring it gets finished Also, we must remain committed to assisting the businesses in Downtown which have toughed out the difficult construction period. I would support a major marketing campaign after completion, co-funded both by the City of Riverbank, it's Economic Development Department, and the Redevelopment Agency. I believe that completion of the reconstruction of the Del Rio Theater is a major component of the rebirth of the downtown district in Riverbank. In addition to fostering participation in the beauty that the arts brings to a community, I know it also can be a significant component of the economic engine that drives the reemergence of downtown and its businesses. The theater can attract scores of people to the downtown area from all over the Central Valley, both participants in the productions presented there and the audiences they will bring. |
