Virginia Martinez is a grassroots activist. She has fought for the rights of workers, clean air, quality education for all. She has served as a board member of the Community Service Organization Behavioral Health Programs, Executive board member for the Democratic Women of Kern, board member of the Bakersfield City School District Site Council, served to organize the United Barrios Gang Awareness Project, member of the Hispanic Advisory Council and served as member of the La Loma Council Food Bank.

Her philosophy, passion and committment is in serving all citizens. Virgina's background includes welfare reform, child protection, education, transportation and programs for the elderly.
