Preserve Our Lush Atherton

The lush landscaping, beautiful trees and rural feel of our Town are part of its charm and what makes it a wonderful place to live. I plan to keep it that way. Atherton's charm, lushness and rural feeling were a large part of why my husband Joe and I moved here over 10 years ago with our children and why we love living here so much. We are blessed to now have 4 grandchildren living within a mile of our home. We have enjoyed running throughout Atherton's neighborhoods while training for our numerous marathon events.

Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability

Without a source of commercial revenue the budget for Atherton is derived from property tax income; building department licenses and fees and revenue from the parcel tax. I will work to implement strong fiscal policies and strategic planning to optimize our limited resources.

Environmental Leadership

Atherton and our world suffer from global warming. I will work to develop environmental sustainability standards to implement green building standards and energy conservation goals modeled on other successful local programs.

Open & Transparent Government

Our Council must take a more active role in ensuring that notification to residents of important issues occurs well in advance. We must elevate our residents opinions and thoughts and create an environment in which all residents are a part of the process. With open doors, open forums, and open policies we can create an open Atherton.

Safe Streets

Many drivers pass through Atherton, in their rush to get to their jobs or homes they create dangerous situations for our schools, pedestrians and residents. I will make road and infrastructure repairs a priority and seek solutions to dangerous intersections.

Collaborative Processes

Create process for working with homeowners, architects, builders and planning staff to ensure new construction thoughtfully takes into consideration the surrounding neighborhood and geographical environment.
