Political Philosophy for Rod Hsiao
Candidate for |

Dear Voter, I am seeking re-election to the San Mateo County Board of Education so that all children can have access to high-quality public education regardless of their family income level or background. I believe that strong public schools build healthier communities, and I want to ensure that our school funds are spent in a cost-effective, balanced way so that all children can maximize their potential and one day graduate with pride and a real sense of achievement. They will be living in a Internet-connected world that can offer wonderful opportunities to learn and experience, but also brings significant competitive pressures as they try to find jobs. To make sure that all kids receive a quality education that will enable them to succeed in the global economy, I want to bring my problem-solving skills that I have used as a corporate management consultant, and public policy experience from spending five years on Capitol Hill as a senior Congressional aide. Just as importantly, I want to bring my collaborative policymaking skills and desire to engage with people in the community to find joint solutions to the tough problems that face our schools today. I share your vision and desire to raise our children in the best schools and nurturing communities. I would be honored to represent you on the San Mateo County Board of Education, and I ask for your vote and support. Sincerely, Rod |
