Political Philosophy for Kathy Miller
Candidate for |

|
A decade as a successful business owner and four years as Executive Director of the Downtown Stockton Alliance have convinced me that we truly can live, work and play in a city that is safe, clean and energized by full employment. Stockton has made many strides in recent years, but we are still plagued with low graduation rates, a drug epidemic, graffiti, high crime, gangs and an over-crowded jail. Addressing these tough issues will take teamwork. I believe the strategies, coalitions and teams utilized in downtown's revitalization can, and should, be used to solve neighborhood issues throughout Stockton. We need new ideas and hands-on experience to empower our neighborhoods. I resigned my position with the Downtown Stockton Alliance to focus on community-wide problem solving. I am an independent voter who votes for the best person in each race, regardless of their party. Stockton needs independent Councilmembers who will listen, make decisions within a context of building coalitions and stand up for what is best for the whole community. |
