I am seeking to represent parents' voices through a position on the school board. In every election thousand upon thousand of men and women run for office all promising to close the achievement gap. I say we begin focusing on the "OPPORTUNITY AND CLASS GAPS". Also parents need a real voice to speak on their behalf.I would like to open my candidacy for the 2008 Board of Education election by thanking the 15,000+ people who voted and supported me in my 2006 campaign. A resident of San Francisco for 19 years, I'm the proud parent of four daughters + two currently attending SFUSD public schools, which are: Gateway High School a SFUSD public charter school, Crystal Springs private Hillsborough Ca, KIPP Bayview Academy SFUSD public charter school; and Prairie View A&M University a HBCU. Also I will begin serving my first term as a Board of Trustee for Gateway High. I am seeking to represent parents' voices through a position on the school board I believe that:
