Education for the 21st Century-Commitment to excellenceBy Larry D. UrdahlCandidate for Board Member; Grossmont Union High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Dedicated to maintaining and improving a safe learning environment. Total commitment to providing life-long learning skills that provide quality academic, career and vocational programs.During my first term as a board Trustee I served on the East County Gang Task Force to improve safety and security in our schools and surrounding areas. We still need to implement a gang prevention and education program into the Grossmont School District. This includes after school programs that improve awareness and necessary skills and participation for our youths in organized events with adult supervision. Our students deserve the very best we have to offer. The teachers in the Grossmont District are very dedicated to providing our students with a quality education. As a Board Trustee I remain accessible. I listen and respond to the concerns of parents, teachers, and all community stakeholders. This enables myself to look, learn and listen and then move forward with the changes necessary from collaborative relationships with the extended community. |
