Full Biography for Ann B. Pierce
Candidate for |
Ann has been dedicated to enriching education for our kids, in our community, for two decades. Her experience includes: Six years as a trustee for the Alpine Union School district, greater than 12 years on school site council and PTA boards, as a founding member of the Alpine High School Citizens Committee and as the facilitator of a successful bond measure to build a new middle school in the community of Alpine. She has promoted student-learning through programs, curriculum and instruction in Literacy, the Visual Arts, Technology, Science and Service Learning. Ann has been a proponent for the Arts and Service Learning long before these concepts became vogue. As a "whole child advocate", she has long recognized the value of hands-on, collaborative instruction that provides students with the experiences as well as knowledge, that allows them to thrive-academically, personally and socially.
These experiences have provided Ann a broadened understanding of community, skills with which to support both students and families and frequent opportunities for advocacy. |
