I will continue to promote a healthy economy and continue to be your fiscal watchdog to ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely. I pass only balanced budgets and will continue funding our city's 20% contingency reserve. I will continue to foster a pro-business environment through civic programs, historic preservation, arts and culture, recreational opportunities, and environmental protection. Our quaint coastal city, its beautiful natural environment and vibrant cultural activities are essential contributors to its economic vitality.

I will continue to work to preserve open space and lagoons. I am dedicated to preserving irreplaceable coastal and inland habitats by stepping up the purchase of open space before it is gone, ensuring clean ocean water, beach sand replenishment, and restoration of San Elijo Lagoon.
