Jillian Hanson-Cox is a "home-grown" community advocate. She is one of the few true and honest government assets whose actions speak volumes about her dedication to her hometown of El Cajon. She has proven these past four years on the City Council that she "walks the talk" with her burning desire to make El Cajon a great city in which to live, work, and play. Though faced with challenges, she sees obstacles as opportunities to make a difference.
At age 25, Jillian displayed her entrepreneurial skills when she started her first enterprise.
Today, as a Controller of an international multi-million dollar manufacturing company, she knows the challenges of day-to-day business operations.
As a manager of commercial property, she gained invaluable insight into the problems facing property owners.
Her business success helped forge her commitment to a pro-business environment, to provide jobs, recreation, and affordable housing.
She is steadfastly devoted to ensuring that police and firefighters have the tools and funding to protect El Cajon's families and neighborhoods.
This experience, combined with serving her hometown of El Cajon as a City Councilmember, has strengthened her skills as a leader, organizer, team builder, and committed member of our community.
Jillian has built a great reputation because "she gets the job done."
Her deceased father, Jack Hanson, was a small business owner, as well as an El Cajon City Council Member for 14 years. Jillian's objective is to continue the Hanson legacy of committed, selfless service as a member of the El Cajon City Council.
