Our district is on the verge of becoming the best district in the county. What started as a classroom teacher initiative has snowballed with the addition of Dr. Bales, the new superintendent. The union bosses oppose this effort. This election will determine whether Dr. Bales stays and brings our children the bright future they deserve or we drift back to one out of three reading at grade level.Four years ago about one out of three of our children were reading at grade level. Today, we are at about half with 15% of our children just 4 right answers shy of grade level. Our district is on the verge of becoming the best district in the county. This incredible turn around started as a classroom teacher initiative and with the addition of Dr. Bales, the new superintendent, is snowballing. Watching the administration supporting the classroom teacher is a dream come true. When children are reading at grade level all their textbooks come alive. Their performance builds the self-esteem of both teacher and student. Unfortunately, the union bosses oppose this effort. They have started a campaign to get rid of the superintendent. They know only the school board can fire the superintendent and it takes three board members. This election will determine whether Dr. Bales stays and brings our children the bright future they deserve or we drift back to one out of three reading at grade level. Our children's future depends on your vote. |
