Full Biography for Bill Goulet

I worked for General Dynamics in Kearney Mesa between 1978 and 1992. In 1993 I started my own business in one of the worst economic periods in San Diego History. The cold war ended and defense contractors were fleeing the area. Unemployment were at record levels and our local economy had to make a difficult transition. I chose to stay here dispite offers to work in Florida and Georgia. I bit the bullet and risked everything in order to open a small business. I was confronted with many finacial challenges in those early years. The first 3 years were very difficult and dispite a life threatening illness in 1994 I survived. My business established itself and continues to do well today. My wife and I have raised 2 great kids in National City. I recently was drawn into the political arena because of the recent sales tax hike and the revelations communicated in the newspapres about the Inzunza family. In recent years I have dedicated more time toward the community. I am a member and an officer in the San Diego Elks Lodge. I work on youth events and promote them within the community. I am ready to donate the time necessary to do this job if I am elected. I hope the voters will let me make a difference in National City. |
