People who have worked with me might describe my philosophy as practical and progressive. I believe government functions best when ordinary people get involved in discussing and solving the problems they face.

Lemon Grove is a great little city, but we need to push ourselves to make it better. We need to fix our streets and design safer and more inviting places for people to walk. We need to develop more safe and healthy activities for our young people. We also need to focus attention on the really tough, ongoing problems such as drug abuse, poverty and crime.

While some people view a city as merely a service provider, I view a city as a catalyst for community involvement and positive change. I would like to see us organize neighborhood councils to identify key priorities for improving each part of the city. I am also promoting ideas such as a multicultural festival and community gardens, to strengthen our sense of community.
