Safe Patient CareBy Nancy L. Bassett, RNCandidate for Board Member; Palomar Pomerado Health System; Full Term | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Quality of care should be every organization's 1st priorityAfter 26 years of working as an RN, 16 of which were in management, I have first-hand knowledge of patient care and what a safe environment can do to protect patients. It takes the work of all job descriptions, with good education, planning, teamwork, interaction, and mutual respect to put the focus on the safety of the patient at all times. First, do no harm. Preventing infection, patient falls, medication errors, skin breakdown, surgical error and complications; these are the areas of focus for staff at PPH. I support and endorse work by our Quality Management team to ensure continuous high quality of care at PPH by engaging in policy development and enforcement at all times. Working towards Nursing Excellence with Organizational Magnet Status and national recognition is supported by myself and the entire PPH Board of Directors. |
