WHY VOTERS SHOULD CHOOSE ME ON NOVEMBER 4By Thomas K. ArnoldCandidate for Council Member; City of Carlsbad | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Thomas K. Arnold represents the new generation of leadership Carlsbad desperately needs: a fiscal conservative who believes the city must be run like a business."Carlsbad's years of managing growth are over. We are facing new challenges and responsibilities that the current city council seems incapable of addressing. That is why I am running--to bring a new sense of strategic thinking, fiscal discipline, and a realistic vision for a more livable and financially secure Carlsbad."--Thomas K. Arnold VOTE ARNOLD NOVEMBER 4 FOR: A fiscal conservative who realizes times have changed. Carlsbad can no longer afford expensive missteps such as the "Golden Fleece Award" golf course or the vacant Farmers Insurance Building, which the city bought for $16 million with the idea of turning it into a grand new city hall. A successful business executive and publisher of a weekly national magazine who knows how to run a business and build an award-winning team. A candidated dedicated to quality-of-life issues for all residents of Carlsbad. We need to invest in Carlsbad Village, study creative ways to build and maintain the new Alga Norte Pool (which MUST be built!), and realize the vision of community-oriented open space as voted for six years ago (Proposition C). No more lip service! A leader who understands your vision of Carlsbad and will work to make it happen. This city seems to be frozen in time, and moving at glacial speed--with study after study, talk and more talk. We need to plan, implement and execute. A candidate who appreciates a fair and balanced approach to developers, public unions and taxpayers alike. Our city needs to think smart and plan well, and demand top-notch services from our public employees, all within a spirit of clarity and accountability to those who pay the bills. |
