Board Member; Palomar Pomerado Health System; Full Term

I am very skilled at sifting through tons of information and minutia to get at a good decision. My logical training as a Civil Engineer and the practice of numerous decision methods for decades will make me very suited for this position.

I intend to help to maintain an excellent staff. Right now I am aware that morale of the doctors at PPH is very low due to a mass firing of many extremely skilled doctors and the lack of accountability of the current board. Information is not forthcoming or easily obtained if at all. It is alarming at best. I intend to protect our best nurses and doctors and not have them scared for their jobs. There is evidence of innappropriate power plays by the current board membership. Egos have no place on the board.

A director must conduct himself/herself with dignity and decency in order to be treated with the respect that the position should be shown. But not just because of the position, the personal strength of the person is what should be recieving the respect.

I know that many of the nurses and doctors are hoping for reform on the board. Working in the public eye is very difficult but I have done that for 38 years. I would appreciate the chance to affect some reform on the PPH board.
