There are three critical issues:
1. Fiscal responsibility: I will work to keep the COE reserve at their suggested 5% and not run multi-million dollar budget deficits.
2. Support for Districts: It is time for the County Office of Education to re-think their mission and become a partner with the school districts for whom they serve, especially in areas of special education.
3. Plan for Change: Long-term plans need to be put into place that address fiscal issues, evaluation of programs, student achievement, collaborative professional development, recruitment and retention of teachers + I have the skills, knowledge and leadership to help put these plans in place and make sure that what is best for students and teachers is always the primary concern of any Board decision.
