Don Dietrich (age 50), currently manages a staff of 20 for the Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3, providing union representation for approximately 8,000 union members who work for government agencies across Northern California, Northern Nevada, and Utah. His duties include developing and managing a 4 million dollar budget, staff training and development, contract negotiations and conflict/dispute resolution.

Prior to his role with the Operating Engineers Local Union, he was a Deputy Sheriff for Santa Cruz County for nearly 20 years.

Don is currently serving as Santa Cruz County Housing Advisory Commissioner for the 5th District.

Don is married to Meghan Dietrich and has lived in Scotts Valley with his family since 1996.

Don is a life-long resident of Santa Cruz County.
