LARRY BEAMAN ISSUE STATEMENT I am running for the School Board because I believe our school district is in need of three important changes.

First and foremost, we need to make sure that the administration is fully accountable to the school board, and not the other way around. The school board is elected to be the voice of the families and taxpayers of our community, and we need a Board that believes the administration works for the citizens and holds them accountable accordingly.

Second, I believe that we need to find a common sense proposal to construct a new middle school. I feel that Measure Q failed because the community did not trust our current leadership. This is our most pressing infrastructure need, and I am committed to supporting a proposal to construct a new middle school.

Finally, I believe we should work to attract top quality teachers to our district, as well as properly taking care of the educators we have in Scotts Valley. I am proud to have been endorsed by the Scotts Valley Education Association, and I want to make sure that our tax dollars are spent in the classroom, and not on inefficient school bureaucracy.
