Candidate Statement

I take seriously my obligation to oversee the District's responsible use of resources. I have also worked to generate additional resources by leading successful campaigns to support modernization of the District's school buildings (Measure G), as well as class size reduction, music, physical education, art, science and classroom technology (Measure H). I strive to keep open lines of communication with teachers, parents and community members to ensure that District programs and policies are working.

It is important that the District provide adequate resources and set the right conditions to maximize student achievement in reading, writing and math, without losing sight of the importance of social studies, science, music, physical education, and art. I have consistently supported these programs as a Board member, a Home & School Club President, a Cambrian Arts Council member and a parent volunteer.
