When I started as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner, I introduced the concept of having open space guidelines for residents-- three acres per 1000 residents.
- As a result, thirteen years later, these goals are still being used to identify where parks are needed in the city.
- I support a large community park in the Whisman neighborhood.
- I advocate the expansion of the Stevens Creek, Permanente Creek and Hetch Hetchy trails.
- I embrace through my cyclist friends' advocacy, the Permanente Creek Trail Bridge over 101 and Old Middlefield Way for safe access to the city.
