Our Citizen Participation Our ability to use our funds effectively Our teamwork in planning ahead We need to be thoughtful in our decision-making and analytical in our planning. We cannot come to the table with predetermined solutions.

As a a long-time advocate of televised Council and Planning Commission Meetings, I believe that more people will have an opportunity to understand our process and issues and help our leaders develop better plans for the future.

During my terms as Mayor, I maintained Office Hours at City Hall to give more citizens access to the Council and to hear YOUR perspectives on issues and planning.

A local newspaper, allowed me to report on Goleta as Mayor, to familiarize residents on what issues were active and what ideas were brewing in the future.

If we are to have a viable future, we will need to work together to stay within sensible budget guidelines, seek out creative solutions to problems and utilize the unique resources available to us.

Goleta is a key source of space exploration and world commerce. We have the talent here to create a very special City - a template for the future.
