Long time youth sports coach and state Senate consultant announces his bid for spot on local parks, recreation and fire board. As part of my Central Valley upbringing, I have always been taught that it is important to do better than the previous generation because that is how a family and a community develop and prosper. Hard work. Trust. Faith. Integrity. Family. These are the core ideals and values that were passed on to me and my sisters and brothers by my parents; and these cornerstone values helped me in getting my college degree and aided me in my career in public service working for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the California Legislature. I am thankful for the many mentors and professional colleagues who have opened doors for me and showed me a path of helping those who are in need of assistance. In their way, they have shown me what is necessary to provide leadership and what it takes to be a responsive leader. I have always prided myself on using my creativity, experiences, hard work, results-oriented style, and leadership abilities to benefit the elected officials that I served and the general public, at large, while I continued to acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise for future endeavors. Well, I feel that the future is now and I am ready to put all of my experience and knowledge to use. For these reasons, I feel the time is right for me to run for elected office and, specifically, run for a seat on the Cosumnes Community Services District Board of Directors (CSD). The CSD is responsible for the parks and recreation activities in Elk Grove, and the fire and emergency services for Elk Grove, Galt, and surrounding communities. As both cities continue to grow, they will find themselves in a unique position to work with the CSD to bring about strong leadership that will be a responsible steward of growth, transparency and stability. As a member of the CSD Board of Directors, I intend to bring these qualities and my family's core values to the table to produce leadership that you can be proud of. This race will be highly competitive but I intend to run for this position with a lot of energy, determination and optimism. In the coming days, I am hopeful that you will join me as I take on this great opportunity to serve you--the people of Elk Grove and Galt. |
