I have lived in California for over 30 years. My family immigrated to California when my father was transferred to Bechtel Corporation's worldwide headquarters in San Francisco. I graduated from high school in southern California, then attended Brigham Young University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. I continued my education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University with an emphasis in Finance and Strategy. I have been married for over 14 years to my wife Jayme and we have 3 wonderful children.

Professionally, I have over 14 years of direct business experience in automotive and hi-tech industries. I began my professional career at Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan as a financial analyst in their prestigious Finance Rotation Program, and worked in their Body and Assembly Division. I was recruited by Intel Corporation to join their finance organization in Folsom, California in 1995. As a finance analyst, I managed budgets and capital expenditures, as well as analyzed and recommended investment strategies for new product development. Later, I transitioned into an operational role where I was directly responsible for purchasing, asset management, capacity planning , and program management. Currently I am a business operations manager where I directly manage revenue and pricing strategies for a $2.5 billion company.

Community service has always been a part of my life. During high school and college I participated in service organizations to help the elderly and tutor other students. After coming to Folsom, I took an interest in local government and was part of two campaigns that successfully won seats on City Council. I also served for 4 years on the City of Folsom Redevelopment Advisory Committee where we invested in revitalizing part of the historic district including approval for the development of the Railroad Block. For the last 4 years, I have been a Folsom City Utility Commissioner where I have worked with staff to complete a water treatment plant upgrade and ensuring we have the financial resources in place to update Folsom's aging water distribution system. In addition, we implemented a construction and demolition recycling program, and a new curbside recycling program which will enable Folsom to meet the State's stringent mandate for recycling 50% of its waste. A March of 2006 survey indicated that 92% were participating in this program.
