I have been a Tustin resident for 20 years. My husband, John and I chose Tustin to because we believed it was a great place to raise our three children. Many of you choose Tustin for the same reason. It is my personal value to be active in the community and to make positive contributions to the community in which we live.

I have spent the majority of my management career in healthcare administration. Healthcare is a highly regulated industry and I am able to understand the complex healthcare and insurance environment. I have been a director of health information, quality management, risk management and medical staff services. As a consultant, I specialized in writing and testing medical software products and in helping hospitals and clinics prepare for their licensure surveys. I have received several management awards for my ability to manage costs and maintain optimum productivity. One such award was "Commitment to Our Shareholders" in which I was nominated by my peers for my ability to manage people, projects and resources. Contributing to the application was one of my vendors who was most appreciative of my ability to negotiate toughly, but fairly. My department won the National "Excellence in Records Management" for the innovation and best use of technology in a mid-sized company. Most recently, I have changed my business focus to the educational arena. Although I have taught part time for many years, I now teach full time at Cypress College to help young administrators prepare for the dynamic healthcare environment.

I am not supported by any special interests. My interest is in representing you and bringing new leadership to our city. It is only with the commitment of our city council that we can truly see progress in our city.

Through my leadership positions, I have gained the unique perspective and knowledge of our city and the issues and concerns that matter most to the residents of Tustin. By direct experience, I can work well with many different people towards a common goal.

I believe that with my business background and my various leadership positions, I can bring common sense leadership to the City Council. With your volunteer support and your vote, I believe that we can make a difference for our city. Please tell your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers and members of your church.

I hope that I can count on your support on November 4, 2008.
